Dr. Melissa Gonzales is originally from Corpus Christi, Tx. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University and Doctor of Optometry from University of Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in 2017. As an optometry student, she went on medical mission trips to Panama and Guatemala, providing eye care to impoverished areas. During her clinical training, she had the privilege of serving our veterans at Amarillo Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center. She also rotated through different community health clinics in San Antonio, Tx, as well as, a private practice, Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic, that focused on primary care in Louisiana. During these externships, Dr. Gonzales honed in on diagnosing and treating a wide range of vision and eye health issues. She has extensive knowledge in managing, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, age related macular degeneration, emergency eye care, and pre and post operative cataract surgery.
Known for her patient-centered approach, Dr. Gonzales offers a personalized care tailored to the unique needs of each patient, ensuring a compassionate and thorough eye exam. She is dedicated to providing each patient with the highest level of care to improve their vision and ocular health. As a member of American Optometric Association (AOA) and Texas Optometric Association (TOA), Dr. Gonzales stays current with the latest advancements in optometry through ongoing education and professional development. In her free time, Dr. Gonzales enjoys spending time with her family, husband and dog Odin. She’s always open to watching a rerun of “Friends.” She loves a good cup of coffee and is a sucker for murder mystery documentaries.
